This project began originally in 2007 as the Likewise Open Project, which gathered quite the following of loyal users and fans around the world.

The Likewise Open Project used to exist at likewiseopen.org (now defunct) but the project was renamed the PowerBroker Open Project after it was acquired by BeyondTrust Software in mid-2011. The entire development team associated with full-time development and maintenance of the project moved to BeyondTrust as well, and with their sponsorship it continues to grow and expand.

So why the new site? This site is about you–the community. We hope to build a site with extensive resources to support PowerBroker Open and all of its pieces as it grows and expands. We’ve got links here to the forums and a brand new blog to keep the community updated on news, events, and developments related to this project. We’re also going to compile a large resources page from all of the tech tips, blogs, and contributions we get from members of the community.

But for starters, we encourage you to subscribe to our blog feed or our twitter feed for the fastest updates of what’s new. And if anyone has ideas on how we can do better, contact us anytime at openproject@beyondtrust.com. Thanks!
